Midweek races results: Luke Campbell goes back-to-back, taking out the Damian Oliver race on Under Influence

Repeat winners took the spoils at the Geraldton Turf Club on Wednesday for the midweek race meet. There were eight races for the first Wednesday meet of the season with three jockeys enjoying multiple wins. Jockey Austin Galati won the first and last races of the day on Safe Hustle in the Great Western Insurance Brokers Maiden Race, followed by a win on Spirit Man in the Beachlands Plumbing handicap respectively. In the second race roughie and local horse Frost David took out the 1213m race, with Mollie Clark riding the gelding that was paying $41 for a win. The favourites were no where to be seen in race three with just seven horses running. Bold Prophet got over the line first paying $15 for the win. Peter Knuckey enjoyed back-to-back wins in races four and five on Patchwork and Mombasa, coming in as the favourites in both of the 1618m runs. The Bunbury Apartment Motel race six had Delago Dehero take an early lead but Budgerigar came from the inside for the win under jockey Luke Campbell. Campbell then went on to take the win in the Damian Oliver, A Champion race. After a poor start Under Influence managed to come through for the victory in the final sprint, paying $3 for the win.
