More than 160 attend annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast as goodwill, wishes sent to the community & leaders

The annual Geraldton Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast took place last week, with members of the community gathering to pray for the area and its leaders. More than 160 guests attended the breakfast on Thursday, August 29, at the Queen Elizabeth II community centre for the Anglican Diocese of North West Australia event. Among the attendees included City of Greater Geraldton mayor Jerry Clune, and guest speaker Helen Ansell. The artist based in Mullewa spoke to the masses, saying how prayer had impacted her and the town’s life when they prayed for crime to ease and for rain to come down. “We had our average yearly rainfall in just one month and for some farmers it is the best season they have ever seen,“ she said. Ansell said she also prayed for her business, which saw continued traffic allowing her to stay open. “If you are where you are meant to be, then amazing doors will open up,” she said. “Things fell into place like it was meant to be. And last year for the first time we stayed open for the whole year.” Ansell said her gallery was able to sell more artwork from Mullewa than in popular metro areas like Perth.
