New and emerging Aboriginal artists from the Mid West selected for 2025 Revealed Art Exhibition in Perth

Fourteen Aboriginal artists from the Mid West have been selected to showcase their works in WA’s popular exhibition of Indigenous art, Revealed: New and Emerging WA Aboriginal Artists. Ten artists were chosen from the Yamaji Art Centre in Geraldton — Nicole Dickerson, Charmaine Papertalk Green, Jennifer Green, Sheryl Green, Andrea Green-Ugle, Glenda Jackamarra, Jonaya Jones, Lily-mae Kerley, Roni Kerley and Margaret Whitehurst. Two artists, Colleen Drage and Maurette Drage, from Ku’Arlu Mangga (Good Nest) in Northampton were also selected along with Wade Little and Peggy Walsh from the Wina Barana Art Centre in Mount Magnet. Established in 2008 and delivered under the custodianship of the Aboriginal Art Centre Hub WA, the 2025 Revealed exhibition is the biggest line-up of Aboriginal artists ever presented, supported by the Cook Government through $310,000 in funding. Following an opening night on Friday, April 11, at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts, art enthusiasts and budding collectors were able to buy artwork at the WA Museum Boola Bardip Revealed Art Market on Saturday, April 12, which featured more than 35 stalls, paintings, ceramics, jewellery and more and 100 per cent of sales going directly to art centres and makers. The Revealed exhibition will be open to the public at PICA from Saturday, April 12 to June 15. Creative Industries Minister Simone McGurk said, “The Revealed Exhibition and Art Market highlights artists at various stages in their careers, bringing together artists from some of the most renowned Aboriginal art centres in Australia, alongside emerging independent artists. “Revealed has been delivered under the custodianship of Aboriginal Art Centre Hub Western Australia since 2023, making it a fully Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led and governed exhibition. “As WA’s biggest Aboriginal arts event of the year, Revealed offers a rare chance to purchase work from the artists, with all proceeds going directly to them and their communities, which supports the continuation of emerging Aboriginal artists’ practices.”
