Dongara and Port Denison is slowly being turned pink, with a series of breast cancer fundraising events for the McGrath Foundation.

A pink line-up of fundraising events hit the streets of Dongara and Port Denison, with the first a pink high tea at the Denison Bowling Club on Sunday, September 18.

The charity organisation Pink Up Dongara Denison committee organiser Janette Sharman said all proceeds go towards the McGrath Foundation, helping to support families experiencing breast cancer.

“We’re aiming to have all of Dongara and Denison painted in pink by October. The high-tea was a huge success and we raised over $10,000,” she said.

On Saturday, September 24 Dongara Pottery Club hosted a pink pottery exhibition, with a range of products on display and for sale to raise funds.

Also on Sunday, Pink Up Dongara Denison held their launch day on the foreshore where residents enjoyed displays, face painting and meeting the pink ladies.

Upcoming events include the Dongara Pink Markets, a Pink Walk and picnic and more. View the events calendar on the Pink Up Dongara Denison Facebook page.
