Saxophonist a singular sensation
She lives in a caravan in Perth but is spending the last night of this month — and the last of the year — in the Waggrakine Hall.
Anne Bavin, aka Sax and the Single Girl, is a one-person act with a big following in Geraldton.
“I love it there; cannot wait to come again,” Bavin said from Perth, where she is recording a CD.
She will perform at an under-the-stars family Christmas party for the Inner Wheel Club on November 30.
Naturally, she will share the show with Santa.
On December 31, Bavin will be back belting out tunes for the Waggrakine Glenfield Progress Association.
“We’ve had Anne here a few years; we love her,” Margaret Pike, of the WGPA, said.
“She’s only small, but she’s big on the saxophone.”
Bavin plans on staying in Geraldton in December.
“I’m hoping I can pick up some work there — my home is on the road,” she said.
