The sounds of summer will again be reverberating along Geraldton’s foreshore from this weekend, with the return of popular live music sessions Sundays by the Sea.

Locals and tourists are encouraged to bring along a picnic blanket and share in good company while listening to talented local musicians. There will also be a variety of food vans for families and friends to enjoy a meal together.

The line-up for the 2024 season, running from this Sunday until May 19, is stacked with talent kicking off with Carly Markham.

“Nothing exemplifies our lifestyle more than the opportunity to sit near the ocean, enjoying head bopping tunes with your loved ones as the sun sets,” City of Greater Geraldton mayor Jerry Clune said.

“It doesn’t get much better.

“So mark it in your calendar, invite your favourite people, enjoy some local eats and let the kids loose to dance and have the best time.”

Sundays by the Sea is a free, all-ages event that takes place weekly on Sunday afternoons in Stow Gardens, with a different local performer and food vans every week.

The sessions will run weekly, except on public holidays and during Shore Leave Festival weekend on April 28.

From January 21 to March 24, food will be available from 4.30pm, with music performed between 5pm-7pm. From April 7 onwards, food offerings will start at 3.30pm, with music from 4pm-6pm.

The City says Sundays by the Sea is made possible through partial funding from Rio Tinto for its youth vibrancy officer role.
