The Veronicas, San Cisco to WoW Geraldton
This Sunday thousands of people are expected to head down to the Geraldton foreshore for the inaugural Wind on Water Festival Concert, sponsored by RedFM.
The concert, headlined by The Veronicas and San Cisco, will take place at Stow Gardens from 5pm.
This will be the first time The Veronicas have performed in Geraldton.
Identical twin sisters Lisa and Jessica Origliasso said they were looking forward to the show.
“Every show we play is different, we love to connect with the crowd and throw in things they don’t expect,” they said.
“We love food and nature so we’re excited to see what Geraldton has to offer. Also we want to see the Pink Lake!”
Local band Songbird will also play at the concert, having taken out the top prize in the City of Greater Geraldton’s WoW Factor competition.
RedFM’s morning show hosts Alana and Robbie will MC the concert, keeping the crowd entertained between acts.
Seven West Media’s Mid West Regional Manager Jason McCarthy said he jumped at the opportunity to support the event.
“We know how much the community loves lives music and we are proud to be able to help bring that here to the Mid West,” he said.
“It’s a massive coup for Geraldton; we can’t wait to welcome The Veronicas and San Cisco and we hope the community joins us.”
Mayor Shane Van Styn thanked RedFM for their support of the concert.
“We can’t bring amazing events to our community without local support like this,” he said.
“We thank RedFM for their generous support to make this happen.”
WoW Fest will run from April 21-22 and will feature a swag of family-friendly events, from an interactive puppet show to sand sculptures and extreme water sports.
The two-day festival is jointly funded by the Australian Government’s Building Better Regions Fund and the City of Greater Geraldton.
The Geraldton Guardian is part of Seven West Media.
