Morning traffic was halted after a crash on Brand Highway, the driver escaping with minor injuries.

A 20 year old man was travelling south near Mahomets Flats at around 7:30am when his car jumped the median strip, colliding with a road sign and a power pole, before coming to rest on the northbound side of the road.

The driver walked away from the scene and was taken by ambulance to Geraldton Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said speed was not a factor, and the crash is not being treated as suspicious.
