Trent James Horsman faces Geraldton Magistrates Court after police allegedly discover hydroponic grow op

Geraldton detectives have charged a 39-year-old Walkaway man with drug dealing after police allegedly discovered a cannabis grow operation inside a home on Geraldton’s rural outskirts. Trent James Horsman was taken into custody on Monday morning when police attended the property to respond to a domestic violence incident. Police allege Mr Horsman’s de-facto partner received injuries to her face, head, arms and legs during the early morning incident. Upon searching the Walkaway home, detectives say they discovered a “hydroponic cannabis grow tent” inside a secure room filled with 279 cannabis plants of various sizes. MORE NEWS Det. Sen Sgt Bruce McDonald said police seized six rifles registered to Mr Horsman allegedly found unsecured in a car parked at the front of the house, as well as a large amount of ammunition in the garage. Mr Horsman appeared in Geraldton Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday charged with six offences including aggravated assault occasioning bodily harm, impeding another person’s normal breathing by applying pressure to the neck, pointing a firearm at another person and cultivating a prohibited plan with intent to sell and supply. The 39-year-old was remanded in custody and will next appear in court on September 29.
