It’s crunch time in the pool in the final round of the Geraldton water polo regular season this weekend.

Top spot will be decided in the A-grade men’s competition when B52s take on Demons on Saturday afternoon.

This will be the fifth time the teams have faced each other this season, with the ledger split at two wins each.

But Demons have won their past two encounters and this may prove key to the rubber match.

Drew MacGregor for Demons and Jack Deschamp for B52s have both proved invaluable in goal, with MacGregor’s athletic prowess improving as the season has gone on.

Corey Sutherland has been racking up goals for the B52s and Lachy Toomath has had his fair share for the Demons. Both will need to be on top form this Saturday.

Rats take on the Country Week Composite side, with Luke Nuewert’s team hoping to get a good tune up in preparation for their finals run.

In the women’s A-grade, the ladder positions have been sewn up for a few rounds, with B52s taking the minor premiership, Demons in second followed by Rats and Serpents.

B52s take on Serpents, with Tenielle Hawke looking to add more goals to her already impressive tally of 36 this season.

Demons play Rats. Jazmin Cocking will be looking to increase her tally; so far the Demons’ striker has 22 to her name.

The women’s B-grade ladder is in a similar situation to the A-grade’s, with B52s on top and Demons in second.

Serpents are currently in the bottom spot but can take third if they can beat B52s and Rats lose out to the Demons in the final round.

In men’s B-grade, B52s are comfortably in first place and have taken the minor premiership.

Relics and Demons will battle for the second spot. Relics will take it if they beat the B52s, unless Demons beat Rats by a very wide margin.

Everything is already set in the women’s C-grade, with Rats Orange in first and Rats Black in second.

In the men’s C-grade, the B52s dominate the ladder with the B52s White in top spot and B52s Blue in second.
