The kindy students of Wandina Primary School celebrated Easter early with an egg hunt, face paint and crafting their own baskets and rabbit ears.

Their teacher, Martika Elward, said the children were excited to participate in the hunt on Tuesday, and would look all day if they were allowed.

The students set out with their keen eyes, and the added help of bunny ears — enabling them to complete the hunt in record time.

When asked what they were most excited about for Easter, there was a straightforward resounding answer — “chocolate!”

The children’s excitement was infectious and they showed amazing peer support, letting other students discover eggs if they had not found as many as their friends.

The hunt finished with an important lesson in sharing, and a brief warm-up to the mathematical concept of division, distributing the eggs evenly between them.
