Man dead after brawl inside home in Craigieburn, Melbourne
A man has died following a brawl inside a home in Melbourne’s north, with nearby residents revealing their shock at the incident.
The altercation broke out at a Thoresby Circuit home in Craigieburn at about 6.45pm on Saturday, according to police.
A 33-year-old Craigieburn man was found with a stab wound and rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
He later died in hospital.
Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of the man, with a 54-year-old man arrested at the scene and taken to hospital under police guard with non-life-threatening injuries.
A 54-year-old woman was also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police believe the three people were all known to each other, and officers are not looking for any other person.
A crime scene was established, with the area cordoned off.
A neighbour told the Herald Sun a couple lived with their son at the home.
They described them as a “nice family” who had lived there about 14 years.
“I was in shock,” the neighbour said.
“The whole street was cordoned off when I got home.”
Any witnesses or anyone with dashcam/CCTV footage has been urged to come forward.
