A woman is facing multiple charges after she allegedly attacked two staff members when confronted for stealing from a Rangeway shop.

Police say the 31-year-old Rangeway woman was approached by the staff members after she left the store without paying for several items about midday on Saturday.

The woman allegedly bit and punched two staff members, one of whom was off-duty, after they told her to wait in the office until police arrived.

Police arrived a short time later and took the woman to Geraldton Police Station where she was charged with two counts of assault and one count of stealing.

She is expected to appear before Geraldton Magistrate’s Court at a later date.
