Cadets have a ball at 75th anniversary
A number of Geraldton cadets were able to hang up their uniforms and enjoy a night of ties, dresses and ballroom dancing.
The 711 (City of Greater Geraldton) Squadron, Australian Air Force Cadets came together to celebrate the organisation’s 75th anniversary recently.
Cadets, staff and their partners enjoyed a formal dinner and ball at the POSH Function Centre, joining more than 9000 cadets across the nation in recognising the milestone.
Ball co-ordinator and mother of an Air Force Cadet, Hanny McGee, said the night was enjoyed by all.
“The cadets loved every minute and it was such a pleasure to watch them enjoying the night,” she said.
“Jason Bertelsen, who helped organise the event, had a surprise up his sleeve and brought a DJ to the ball. The cadets stayed on the dance floor for two hours non-stop. What a fabulous night.”
