A Yalgoo motorist has had his family car impounded and his licence suspended for travelling at 125km/h in a 60km/h zone in Perth.

A speed camera clocked the 26-year-old travelling in a Ford Falcon in Kenwick on February 6.

Sergeant Ivan Davies from Yalgoo police police urged drivers to consider the risk to the public when on the road.

“It’s just not worth it,” he said.

“Please slow down and take your time because travelling at speeds like this in a built-up area puts everyone’s lives at risk.”

The man’s licence has been suspended for a minimum of six months and the car, which belongs to a family member, has been impounded for a month.
