GG Pumps and Electrical owner Raymond Cooper was almost brought to tears when his company took out the Mid West Chamber of Commerce and Industry Business of the Year Award.

Mr Cooper said the company had taken the hard road to success.

“It means everything for a business, it will give us a lot of publicity and our business will grow,” he said.

“We are already a growing business, but the fact we have won the business of the year award is an awesome accolade to us.

“I feel like crying — it’s amazing, I never thought we would win this, ever.”

The company also won the Small Business Award.

The major award, sponsored by Geraldton Newspapers, was presented on Saturday night at Geraldton Grammar School Batavia Hall.

The 20th anniversary gold-themed night featured a three-course meal, while Dean Calver was master of ceremonies.
