Geraldton charity Pregnancy Problem House will officially open its baby-wear shop on Monday and community members are invited.

The event has been planned for friends and supporters of the independent charity but the public is encouraged to attend the official opening of Tiny Toes Boutique and to enjoy afternoon tea and see the new PPH office, which was previously on Forest Street.

Staffed by volunteers from local churches, the new store will sell donated pre-loved baby wear.

The proceeds will help fund Pregnancy Problem House.

The organisation, which was started in Perth in 1986, is also staffed by volunteers who offer a free, confidential service providing care and support for women and couples with unplanned pregnancies.

Dr Jeremy Beckett said he and other PPH volunteers supported clients with whatever decision they made regarding an unplanned pregnancy.

“...either walking alongside them through the pregnancy and early days of motherhood, or offering support and a listening ear if they lose the pregnancy or choose to terminate,” Dr Beckett said.

“Our emphasis is very much on meeting people wherever they’re at, hearing their stories, helping them explore their own thoughts and feelings and fears, and trying to meet whatever practical needs we can, and then offering them information, education, mentoring and emotional support for whatever follows.”

Pregnancy Problem House and Tiny Toes Boutique are at 4B George Road, Geraldton.

Doors open at 3pm and the official ribbon cutting and dedication will take place at 4pm.
