Kids break mould in sand sculpture

Geraldton Guardian

Elephants, mermaids and treasure chests were just some of the award-winning sand sculptures created by local children last week as part of Festivals on the Foreshore.

The Foreshore beach was scattered with buckets and spades as children ferociously created sand sculptures at the event hosted by the Country Women’s Association.

With cash prizes up for grabs, the children used shells, rocks and food dye to make their sculptures stand out.

There were 55 sculptures in total, with three prizes awarded in each age group.
