Motorist brandished firearm in road rage incident, allege police
A motorist has been accused of brandishing a firearm in a road rage incident near Geraldton.
It is alleged the incident erupted at a Drummond Cove service station about 11pm last Thursday, over what police described as a minor traffic matter with another motorist.
Police allege that after a series of heated exchanges the man pulled a firearm out of a rifle bag from the passenger seat, then stood outside the car holding the rifle before leaving the scene.
Police searched the man's home and car and allegedly seized an unsecured firearm and ammunition.
A 22-year-old Drummond Cove man has been charged with being armed in a way to cause fear and failing to ensure safekeeping of a firearm/ammunition.
He will appear before Geraldton Magistrate's Court on January 29.
