Night works to shut water off to about 2000 Geraldton properties

Staff reporterGeraldton Guardian

Water supplies will be shut off to about 2000 properties in Mount Tarcoola, Rangeway and Geraldton overnight this Saturday while the Water Corporation carries out “essential work”.

Water will be unavailable from 9pm Saturday, November 19, to 6am Sunday, November 20.

Water Corporation Mid West Regional Manager Steve Greeve said the works would help limit the customer impact of future water outages and improve the reliability of the water supply.

“Once water supply resumes 6am on Sunday, customers may experience temporary discoloured water for a short period,” he said.

“Temporary discoloured water may occur when we undertake this type of work because natural sediment within pipes is stirred up and causes discolouration.

“This sediment is harmless and the water is safe for use.”

Mr Greeve said the work would take place overnight to limit the impact to customers.

"I thank our customers in advance for their cooperation and understanding during these essential water supply works, and apologise for any inconvenience they may cause," Mr Greeve said.
