A 33-year-old Spalding man who allegedly struck a man in the head with a broom has been charged with wounding.

Geraldton police responded to a call at Hammond Place, Spalding, about 6pm last night.

It is alleged two males were involved in an altercation and the 33-year-old male victim was struck on the forehead with a broom handle and sustained a five centimetre gash which required staples.

The 33-year-old man was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and will appear in Geraldton Magistrate’s Court on March 26.
