The Geraldton Women’s Health Resource Centre will be holding a special screening of the award-winning documentary He Named Me Malala this Friday.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion and supper with some of the region’s most influential women.

After the Taliban tried to kill her for speaking out on behalf of girls’ education, Pakistani teenager Malala Yousafzai emerged as a leading advocate for children’s rights and the youngest-ever Nobel Peace Prize laureate.

The 2015 release is a portrait of Yousafzai and her struggles against the Taliban.

The then 15-year-old was singled out, along with her father, for advocating for girls’ education, and the attack on her sparked an outcry from supporters around the world.

The event begins this Friday at 6.45pm at the Master Builders Association with tickets available through Eventbrite or by calling the WHRC on 9964 2742.
