Scammers target Mid West
Police are advising Mid West residents to not give out personal details after they received multiple reports of scam phone calls and emails.
Police say residents have been contacted by a group claiming to be representing government entities which are requesting money.
Sergeant Grant Rosman from Dongara police urged the public to be vigilant with their personal information.
“Never give personal details away unless you’re 100 per cent sure you know who you’re talking to,” he said.
“We’re still not sure where this is coming from at this stage but investigations are continuing through the Australian Federal Police.
“If you think you’ve been a victim of an attempted scam then report it to ScamWatch 1300 795 995 or online.”
