Street closed for tree works
Duboulay Street, West End, will be closed tomorrow for tree maintenance work.
The work, which City of Greater Geraldton workers started today, will include the pruning of 19 Western Australian peppermint trees and the removal of three dead or decayed trees.
New trees will be planted to replace those removed.
A representative said the City was reluctant to remove trees because they added to the “liveability” of Geraldton, but said the trees posed a serious risk to pedestrians, motorists and homes.
Motorists and pedestrians have been asked to obey warning signs and directions given by City personnel and contractors.
Queries about the maintenance work can be made through reserves supervisor Graham Smith on 9956 6600.
The street will stay open to local traffic.
