Two men have been charged over a robbery at a Geraldton bottle shop last month in which a staff member was allegedly glassed.

A 25-year-old from Waggrakine has been charged with aggravated robbery and unlawful wounding.

The other man, a 25-year-old from Karloo, has been charged with stealing.

Police will allege the men stole five bottles of spirits from a bottle shop on Chapman Road on June 29.

When an employee of the store asked for payment, one of the men allegedly ran toward him and struck him to the side of the face with a bottle, causing it to smash.

The victim received cuts which required sutures.

The Waggrakine man was remanded in custody while the Karloo man was granted bail.

Both will appear before Geraldton Magistrate’s Court at a later date.
