Hockey achievements celebrated at Geraldton Hockey Association Awards night

The Geraldton Hockey Association held its awards night in its club rooms on Friday to recognise the best across the league.

With the grand finals set to get underway this weekend, the presentations acknowledged junior and senior players for outstanding efforts throughout the season.

Daniel Zinetti from Australs took out the Ross Viner Award for the best senior hockey men’s player for the second year in a row.

Australs’ Dale Cleary won the Guidice and Barndon Award for the best women’s A-Grade player.

Association President Warwick Sullivan said it had been a successful season, with the installation of two new turfs and the upgrading of various equipment.

“Thank you to all the GHA members, you are a wonderful community, there is nothing healthier in this world than a thriving sports community,” he said.
