Rainy day a winner as wet tracks provide perfect playground for Rd 5 of Geraldton motocross action

The Geraldton Motocross Club hosted a thrilling round five of the season at the weekend, with both junior and senior riders showcasing their skills on a track made ideal by recent rains.

The wet ground provided perfect conditions for big twists and turns, resulting in a series of exhilarating races.

In the fiercely competitive A-grade, Jared Blakeney emerged victorious, taking the top spot with an impressive performance.

Seth Patience and Gary Hansson were tied for second place, demonstrating the close competition among the top riders. Ricky Edwards rounded out the podium in third place.

Shay Bloxsidge claimed first place in B-grade, despite a hectic second race that featured a first lap crash.

“Today was a great day of racing, race two was pretty hectic with a first lap crash, but I was stoked to be able to still make my way to the front and come away with some more good points for the season,” Bloxsidge said.

“The track was perfect thanks to Boxy and Wardy for always putting in the hard work, it made for great racing all day.”

Makala Edwards finished in second and Darcy Dawson secured third.

Lilli Patience dominated the C-grade category, taking first place. Ryan Hayward finished in second, followed by Adam York in third, each rider showcasing their potential and skill on the track.

In the vets category, Jared Blakeney once again took the top spot, proving his versatility and dominance across different classes.

Gary Hansson secured second place, while Harley Box finished third.

Toby Edmonds cleaned up with wins in both the 85CC juniors and 65CC categories. While Jasper Pickering followed with second place finishes in both divisions.

Charlie Humphries emerged victorious in the 250CC junior lites, followed closely by Kaleb Russell in second place and Riley Vandershuit in third, showcasing the future stars of motocross.

Addison Orr took the top spot in the 125CC junior lites, with Jamie Nunn finishing in second place. Both riders demonstrated exceptional skill and competitiveness.

Eddie Fay claimed first place in the 85CC senior category, with Orr finishing second and Kash Higgins taking third.

The 50CC division two category saw Oliver Monaghan take the top spot, with Indie Coombe finishing second and Austin Anderson in third.
