Registrations now open as Harriers look to hit the ground running in season opener

For runners and walkers of all ages, the Geraldton Harriers Running and Walking Club 2023 season is just around the corner offers the chance to get outdoors and fit with friends.

The first run/walk of the season at the Greenough River track on April 9.

The club has been in existence for more than 50 years and Harriers is aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle in Geraldton.

Club secretary Gerrard Grant said their are many positive outcomes for exercise.

“There are so many recorded benefits for exercise,” he said.

“A recent study by Dr Ben Singh found regular exercises to be 1.5 times more effective than anti-depressant medication, and that’s not to mention the cardio/vascular benefits.

“We have a great atmosphere with lots of encouragement and cups of coffee and tea afterwards.”

Each event is held at a different venue allowing members to experience different parts of Geraldton’s great outdoors.
