Suiside men’s division one continue their early season dominance in the Geraldton softball league with a hard-fought win over Martians on the weekend.

Meanwhile, women’s champions Marlins remain undefeated after impressive displays in their doubleheader games.

In men’s division one, Suiside maintained their top position early in the season, escaping with a narrow 9-8 victory over a strong Martians side. The Bulldogs showed resilience, securing their second consecutive win.

Meanwhile, the Rams rebounded from a tough round two loss, defeating Batavia Blaze with a decisive 12-3 scoreline, putting them back in contention.

Women’s division one saw Marlins showcase impressive form with a doubleheader weekend. On Friday night, they narrowly defeated the Rams in an intense game that extended past regulation innings, clinching victory by capitalising on a late-game error for two extra runs.

Marlins held their ground in their second match, concluding in a high-scoring 13-13 draw against Martians. Both teams excelled at bat, though missing players led to fielding errors, making for a gripping showdown.

Rams women also played a doubleheader, bouncing back with a commanding 14-3 victory over Pi’s Panthers on Saturday.

In Men’s division wwo action, Pi’s struggled against the formidable Rams White, who powered through with a 21-0 victory. Despite David Sutton’s team showing flashes of strong play, Rams White proved too experienced to overcome.

Suiside continued their consistent form, outplaying Blaze with a tight 3-1 win, keeping their position at the top of the ladder. Rams Blue extended their winning streak with a 7-1 triumph over Martians.

Gunduwa celebrated one of their best games since forming last season, securing an impressive 18-0 win against Marlins. Levi Thorne and Jordan Lockyer stood out for Gunduwa, producing seven runs off five hits in a remarkable third-inning performance.

In women’s division two, Marlins emerged victorious over Martians with a 17-10 scoreline. Zoe and Sophie Purcell shone in both offence and defence, capitalising on Martians’ errors to secure the win.

Suiside capped off a solid round by defeating Rams White 24-2, further underscoring their dominant form this season, with the Bulldog ladies now sitting comfortably on top of their ladder.

Rams White fared better in their second doubleheader game, taking the win over Martians 12-9.

Gunduwa secured their first win of the season with a well-fought 18-17 victory over Batavia Blaze.
