Mohamed Fattah is farewelled in touching service after 9-year-old is shot dead

Family and friends have gathered to farewell a nine-year-old boy who was accidentally shot dead during a family weekend away.
Mohamed Fattah, known as “Moey” and “Hamad”, was killed when a gun unexpectedly fired while at a farm at Windellama, near Goulburn, about 11.20am on Sunday.

The gun was allegedly being held by a teenager at the time. Police believe it was a tragic accident.
The teenager has been charged with possessing an unauthorised firearm and granted conditional bail to appear before the children’s court on May 16.
A man, 33, has been charged with allowing an unauthorised person to possess a firearm and not keep a firearm safely, and will appear before Goulburn Local Court on May 14.

On Thursday, hundreds gathered at Lakemba Mosque to farewell the young boy who has been remembered as being a “very cheeky, happy boy”.
There were heartbreaking scenes as the small casket was carried into the waiting hearse, with hundreds gathered around the car.
Earlier this week, the young boy’s mother Mariam, told the Daily Telegraph the tragedy had rocked her family.
“I just want people to know it can happen to anyone, so hold your loved ones close,’ she said.
“It was a tragic accident … he was loved by everyone, he was a very cheeky, happy boy”.
