70yo man assaulted, say police

A 70-year-old man in Spalding was physically assaulted and had his ATM card stolen this week, according to police.

Police allege a Utakarra man, 41, pushed the 70-year-old to the ground and kicked him, then returned later and stole an ATM card and used it to withdraw money.

The alleged incident happened on Wednesday.

A man was yesterday charged with aggravated assault, aggravated burglary, stealing, fraud and suppling a prohibited drug.

He will appear before Geraldton Magistrate’s Court at a later date.
