Cricketers rally behind Sheilds family

Geraldton cricket lovers are encouraged to head along to Eadon Clarke Oval late this afternoon to help a local family doing it tough.

Earlier this year, promising Wanderers Cricket Club junior Harry Sheilds temporarily relocated to Perth with his family to support his father Claude, who is battling cancer.

A passionate sportsman, Harry had begun a cricket program in Perth, before he unfortunately broke his leg.

In a way to show how much the Sheilds family mean to the Wanderers Cricket Club community, Saturday’s under 12s Wanderers Gold v Wanderers Black cricket match has been rescheduled as a 4pm twilight game under lights.

A sausage sizzle and cool drinks will be available for purchase, with all proceeds assisting the Sheilds family.
