Eagle-eyed citizen's arrest
Two girls have been charged after a pizza delivery driver allegedly blocked the pair from fleeing a clothing store with items valued at nearly $1000.
Police allegedly witnessed the two 17-year-olds with the items, exiting the Supre clothing store on Durlacher Street in Geraldton about 2pm yesterday.
The pair then allegedly fled to a nearby vehicle before attempting to pull out of the parking lot, where an Eagle Boys pizza delivery driver used his vehicle to block their escape.
“We’re thankful for the worker who did a great job of assisting police by blocking the vehicle,” Constable Michal Krizanek said.
“He was quite a young guy and it was great to see because the store owner was happy to have the clothing returned.”
Police say 58 items of clothing taken from the store, with a total value of $970.
Two girls have been charged with stealing and are due to appear before Geraldton Children’s Court at a later date.
