A proposed school at Glenfield is on the City of Greater Geraldton radar this week.

Submissions close on Thursday with the City over plans to modify a structure plan to enable the excision of 3.53 hectares for a proposed public primary school site from Lot 3 Bluefin Drive.

The modified plan can be viewed during office hours at the Geraldton Civic Centre, Cathedral Avenue.

A statement from the City notes that: "The Structure Plan is available for inspection in order to provide opportunity for public comment and it should not be construed that final approval will be granted."

The Department of Education struck an agreement in 2000 to buy about four hectares of land west of Bluefin Drive for a future primary school site.

A department spokesperson last month told the Guardian there were no current plans to build the new primary school.
