A man charged with two counts of attempted murder sat passively in the dock when he faced Geraldton Magistrate’s Court this morning.

Lennie Kenneth Gregory Smith, 38, of Drummond Cove, made only a brief appearance and was not required to enter pleas.

Dressed in a blue jumpsuit and surrounded by four guards, he appeared nervous at times, but remained silent throughout.

He acknowledged his lawyer George Giudice with a nod of his head at the end of his appearance.

The charges relate to an attack on a 36-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man at a house in Fuller Street, Bluff Point, about 11.30pm on Wednesday.

Both suffered serious injuries and were flown by Royal Flying Doctor Service to Royal Perth Hospital, where their condition today was listed as critical.

Mr Smith is also charged with aggravated burglary and breaching a violence restraining order.

He was remanded in custody for two weeks to allow his defence to get advice and receive facts from the prosecution.

Magistrate Donna Webb said the case would likely go to Stirling Gardens, in light of the seriousness of the allegations.
