A toddler hit by a car in Geraldton at the weekend is showing signs of improvement, according to his aunt.

Noah Archer, 3, was hit by a utility outside the IGA supermarket in Wonthella on Saturday morning.

His aunt, Kate Najar, said he had surgery this morning to replace staples in his skull with stitches, and would undergo an MRI scan later this afternoon.

“He’s getting his staples removed so they can do an MRI of his neck just to see if there are any spinal injuries,” she said.

“He’s been trying to wake up so they keep sedating him, but I think if everything goes all right with the MRI scan they might be bringing him out of his induced coma this afternoon.”

Ms Najar said doctors had also removed a monitor measuring the amount of pressure in his skull, after being content with the readings presented.

He remains in a serious but stable condition at Princess Margaret Hospital.

Ms Najar has set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds to support his parents, who travelled to Perth to be by his bedside.
