A Carnarvon woman has been charged over an incident at a Geraldton service station where a police officer was allegedly threatened with a cricket bat and a broken brick.

Police allege the incident happened about 11.45pm last Thursday, after police arrested the woman’s friend outside the BP Service Station on Place Road, Wonthella.

Police allege the woman reached into her Ford Falcon and grabbed a cricket bat from the back seat, raising it above her head and threatening the police officer, demanding he let her friend go.

When the officer told the woman to drop the cricket bat, she allegedly got back into her car, but then got back out holding a broken brick and continued to threaten the officer.

When more police arrived at the scene, she allegedly got back into her vehicle and refused to get out.

Officers opened the vehicle door, reached in and arrested the 19-year-old.

She has been charged with one count of threatening to injure, endanger or harm a person.

She has been bailed to appear before Geraldton Magistrate’s Court this Thursday.
