A 26-year-old pregnant woman avoided serious injury when the car she was a passenger in rolled on the Geraldton-Mount Magnet Road yesterday.

A Midwest Gascoyne Traffic spokesperson said there was water on the road from a localised thunderstorm and the Holden Commodore sedan aquaplaned when it hit the water about 2pm.

As the female driver over-corrected, the vehicle rolled.

There was also a second female passenger and a male passenger.

The pregnant woman was taken to Geraldton Hospital and kept overnight for observation.

The other occupants were unharmed.
