'Six-pack' P-plater charged

A P-plater who allegedly told police he drank a six-pack of beer before getting behind the wheel on Australia Day has been charged.

The 19-year-old was driving a Holden Rodeo on Brand Highway just south of Dongara when he was pulled over by Dongara police about 8pm.

He allegedly had a blood alcohol reading of 0.104 and was charged with driving with a blood alcohol content in excess of 0.08.

He was also issued with a roadside licence disqualification.

He will appear in court at a later date.
