Calls to police have led to the arrest of a boy over an alleged attempted burglary in Wandina last week.

Police took multiple calls regarding alleged suspicious behaviour of two males in the suburb, about 1.30am last Thursday.

The Geraldton K9 Unit then allegedly tracked a 15-year-old Utakarra boy to bushland near Verita Road, where he was arrested.

He was charged with attempted burglary, two counts of stealing and eight counts of trespassing.

He will appear before Geraldton Children’s Court at a later date.

A police spokesman said police encouraged people to report suspicious activity.

“Geraldton police work closely with reports from the community to apprehend offenders and encourage people to report any suspicious activity to Geraldton police on 99234555 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000,” the spokesman said.
