WA Country into Grand Final

The WA Country Women's side have progressed through to the Australian Country Championships Gold medal match tomorrow after defeating New South Wales in a thrilling shootout this morning.

Scores were locked at 1-1 at full time and the match was decided by a penalty shootout, which the Black Ducks held their nerve to win in a cliffhanger.

Amazingly WA had lost to NSW 6-1 earlier in the week.

Geraldton's Mikaila Watson and Mikala Cooper are a part of the side along with Coorow and former Murchison player Shayne Wass.

The WA Country Men's side will play in the Bronze medal match tomorrow after going down 3-2 to NSW this afternoon.

The men's side features Yacht Club's Courtney McLeod and Jyi Connolly, along with Murchison Trio Dylan Bean, Dylan Williamson and Shaun Wheatland.
