Whip out your flanno for bogan-tastic bingo

Geraldton Guardian

Flannos, mullets, tight jeans and stubby shorts are custom uniform for the next Bogan Bingo.

Now in its third year, the bingo evening is packed with bogan banter, jokes and brings local bogans together for a good cause.

In the past the event has raised money for breast cancer, brain cancer and this year aims to donate all proceeds to Diabetes WA.

Event co-ordinator Anne Williams, who goes by her bogan name ‘The Chovester,' said the last event was a massive success, and tickets for the upcoming event were selling fast.

“The tickets went on sale early last week, and within 24-hours we had sold more than 120, so they are seriously going fast,” she said.

“The quiz night is high energy, crazy, obnoxious, fun and has a few rude jokes sprinkled in there.

“But most of all it’s for a good cause.

“We expect people to rock tight jeans, flannels, ACDC shirts and all things bogan.

“Seriously, if you don’t dress up you will be the only one — everyone gets right into it.”

She said at the last Bogan Bingo, the venue was and she expected no less for the next event.

“The last one was absolutely massive,” The Chovester said.

“I was amazed at how supportive the community were about the last event

“It was a really great night.

“Tickets are selling really fast so if this sounds like something you would like to support get in touch as soon as possible.”
