Kalbarri Police are investigating a crash that happened early Sunday morning on George Grey Drive near the Pink Lake.

A spokesperson said police were first called about the crash about 3.15am Sunday after a passing motorist stopped to assist the driver.

The initial caller indicated the driver was not seriously injured as he was out of the vehicle and walking.

It appears the Toyota LandCruiser utility was towing a trailer, being driven south on George Grey Drive, when for an unknown reason it has left the road, struck a sign and then rolled.

Police have made follow-up enquiries with the family of the man who was believed to be driving the vehicle at the time of the crash, and they were making arrangements to recover the vehicle and trailer.

Police are asking witnesses to call 9936 3000 or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
