Man in his 30s hospitalised in “critical condition” after being struck by car in Wonthella on Friday night

A man in his 30s has been flown to Royal Perth Hospital in a “critical condition” with head injuries following a crash on Friday night on Place Road in Wonthella.

Police are asking the public for information regarding the crash, after a silver Holden Statesman struck the man when he was walking on the verge with another man at 9.55pm near the intersection of Allen Road.

The man fell to the ground with head injuries and was taken to Geraldton Regional Health Campus before being flown to Perth.

A spokesperson for the East Metropolitan Health Service said the man was in “critical condition” but couldn’t give further details.

He had earlier been reported by police to be in “serious” condition.

Police said the driver, a 42-year-old woman, and the other pedestrian were not injured.

A police spokesperson declined to give further details about the people involved.

Police are continuing their investigation.
