Valley Groove 2023: Reigan Derry named headline act at two-day snowflake disco festival at Nukara Farm

Organisers of the Mid West’s biggest music festival have revealed the headline act for the two-day Valley Groove later this month, which will be held in a winter wonderland. This year, Nukara Farm will be covered in hues of light blue and silver as it’s transformed into a polar palace for the folk music, dance and nature adventure splendour on July 28. The snowflake disco will see multi-ARIA nominated Australian singer and songwriter Reigan Derry hit the stage as the headline act after recently returning from LA. The double platinum selling singer honed her skills in the studio with Snoop Dogg, Timmy Trumpet and Lee Burridge and was signed by Jay-Z after one meeting. Derry’s combined Spotify streams are more than 50 million, she has performed at the Grand Prix to a live audience of 100 million and is touring as lead singer and vocal director of Ministry of Sound’s classical festival circuit. She was 11th on the fourth season of Australian Idol in 2006 and fourth on the sixth season of The X Factor Australia. She later received a recording contract with Sony Music Australia and released her debut album, All of the Pieces, in December 2014. Derry said when she began her singing career busking on the streets of Perth, she never imagined she would be performing at major festivals and on TV commercials today and looked forward to bringing her music to the Valley. “I’m going to do something that’s really similar to what I do at Ministry of Sound. We organise dance music songs and then I mix it up with live vocals, but then I play around with the effects as well,” she said. “It’s all familiar stuff that gets you singing and gets you dancing and that’s really kind of the niche I like to stay in.” Derry said she looked forward to the nature walks and adventures she could get involved in while at Nukara Farm, as well as performing on stage. “Up around the Geraldton area, the wildflowers in the middle of the year bloom in the most incredible colours and it’s just such beautiful country out at Nukara Farm,” she said.
