Man charged after crash that killed woman near Dongara

Police have charged a Swan View man after a crash on the Brand Highway near Dongara that killed a 28-year-old Mullewa woman on Saturday.

The 28-year-old man has been charged with dangerous driving causing death and two counts of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm.

The woman was a passenger in a blue Peugeot convertible, allegedly being driven by the man, when it collided with a Ford Territory SUV.

Police were called to the incident near the Kailis Drive turn-off near Dongara, about 6.30am on Saturday.

The female passenger was flown to Geraldton Regional Hospital with serious injuries but died later.

The charged man and the female driver and male passenger of the Ford were taken to Dongara hospital with minor injuries. They remained there overnight.
