South Australia Police are chasing the rider of a red motorcycle following a fatal crash that left a teen dead on the road.

The crash happened at Dry Creek, in Adelaide’s outer north, about 4.30pm on Thursday at the Wingfield interchange on-ramp to the North-South Motorway.

A 19-year-old man from Munno Para West died at the scene and the police are now chasing a “red rider” who was seen riding with the teen just before the crash.

“Investigators would like to speak to the rider of a red motorcycle seen riding with the young man just prior to the crash, as they may be able to assist in the investigation,” the police said on Friday morning.

“The red motorcycle continued riding on to the North South Motorway, exiting at Bolivar and then headed east on Kings Rd.

“Anyone who recognises the bike pictured or has information as to its rider is asked to come forward.”

The road was closed for several hours while major crash investigators attended and examined the scene, the police said.
