BDCA: First-grade teams to wear coloured clothing and use white ball in all fixtures for 2024-25 summer

Bunbury and Districts Cricket Association first-grade games will have a different look starting from this summer, with all fixtures to be played with a white ball and coloured clothing. Regional associations from around the State have been encouraged to make the move as part of an initiative several years in the making from the WA Country Cricket Board. The change will bring BDCA games into line with the format of both the Country Cup and Country Cricket Championships, while country week fixtures will also be played with a white ball and coloured clothing from this season onwards. The men’s first-grade competition, which will start with a Twenty20 double header on Saturday, is down to six teams from seven last season, with Eaton moving down into second-grade. On Saturday morning, Leschenault will take on reigning premiers Colts at Leschenault Recreation Reserve, Collie will host Hay Park at Roche Park and Marist will take on Dalyellup at Forrest Park. In the afternoon, Leschenault will take on Marist at Forrest Park, Dalyellup will play Hay Park at Dalyellyup College and Colts will head to Roche Park to come up against Collie. The women’s first-grade season will also start with T20 games on Sunday, with reigning premiers Donnybrook hosting Leschenault at Egan Park and Colts taking on Marist at Bunbury Recreation Ground. Both fixtures start at 10am.
