Body found in Geraldton unit

Detectives from the Major Crime Squad have been called to Geraldton following the overnight death of a woman at her residency.

Local police were called to a unit on Simpson Street in Beresford about 9.30pm after receiving reports of a disturbance at the front of the complex.

When they arrived they found the body of a woman aged in her 60s.

Police said a man who was known to the deceased was located nearby and was assisting with the investigation.

Anyone with information relating to the incident, or who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area between 8.30pm and 9.30pm, is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
