Car thief 'known to victim'

It will be alleged a person who stole a Kia Sorrento in Geraldton yesterday was known to the owner.

Police said the car was stolen about 6.20pm, but was shortly afterwards recovered by friends of the owner with the alleged thief inside.

A 44-year-old Spalding woman was arrested in Dorothy Street and charged with stealing a motor vehicle and having no driver’s licence.

She will face Geraldton Magistrate’s Court on July 2.
